Auditions for The Ponder Family Heart will be held at the Black Rose Theatre on February 27, 28, and 29 at 7:00 p.m. Auditions are open to anyone. Due to the size of the cast anticipate auditions may take some time. There are roles for:
3 males ages 50 – 75 6 females ages 30 -60
3 males ages 30 – 55 3 female ages 21 -30
1 male ages 21-30 11 male/female ages 25 – 70
3 males ages 25 -70 4 boy/girl age 8-15
This will be a world premiere for The Ponder Family Heart. It is the stage adaptation of the movie The Ponder Heart produced by ALT Films for Masterpiece Theatre’s American Collection. The movie producers have won over eleven Emmy awards, thirty-six Emmy nominations, two Gabriel Awards, two Monte Carlo Television Awards, a Peabody award, and many other honors. The movie was based on the American classic comedic novel The Ponder Heart written by Mississippi author Eudora Welty. The adaptation is being done by The Black Rose Theatre Company.
